to 35 I need help On oils and fill locations

Hey guys I need some help. I usually only work on old two cylinders and have the books for my tractors. My dad has a T.O. 35 he bought last year and uses to mow his yard and blade his driveway. Long story short he asked me to change the oil in it today and I drained it and put a new filter in it. How many quarts and what oil do you run in these? Also in the process I checked the dipstick on the rear end and it was way too full and looked as if it has got water in it. So I pulled the plug and drained it, I also noticed another plug in front of it under where the dash would be and a large diameter cap. I pulled that cap and oil looked the same so I pulled the plug and drained it. I left plugs out and told him to let drain for a couple days and put some diesel or kerosene in it to clean out and let it drain for a couple days. My main questions are #1 What type oil should go in the fill hole below the dash and how much? #2 Where do you fill the oil for the hydraulics and what type should we use? I saw a cap that looks like where it should be filled however it seems awful small for a fill hole. I have attached a pic of the tractor... Thanks in advance for all the help...

So. You're already here. Good. While you are waiting for someone smarter than me to answer, you can search 'archives', and see where that takes you.
I have four 35 variants, and have different oils in the back half of each... so don't ask me...

Now you really better wait till soemone else reads this. does this have a multipower transmission? Even if? there should me but one cap. I think there are 3 'sections', but all have holes in the bulkheads to let the same oil flow, fill and drain... there are 2 or 3 drain plugs, but 'should be' just the one filler cap.... so just hang in there for now..

The trans, hyds, and rear end all use a common reservoir filled from the large plug under the dash. There are 2 or 3 drain plugs to get all the oil out from each section. I would guess it would take MF Perma-Tran oil like a newer 135. When filling allow several minutes for the oil to spread out so you get an accurate reading on the dipstick by your right foot. I think it takes about 8 gallons but not positive on a 35.

2 drain plugs, 1 fill plug as described. Use GL-1 mineral oil (80-90 weight),not gear oil to be found at NAPA. I think the part # is 65-205 but you had better verify. 8 gallons to fill.

Looks like you have most of the info requested. Engine oil should be 10 w30 above 0 degree F. Fill the oil filter at installation, then add four quarts, run it a few and check. If you have water in the (hydraulic-transmission -final drive), all connected,I think 8gal. It usually gets in there thru. Bad gear shift boots. Flushing that out probably good idea. I use a good UTF in my 65.
