Massey Ferguson 202?

I am purchasing what a seller advertised as a model 202.I thought it had a 3 cyl perkins Diesel in it, It actually has a 3 cylinder Perkins GAS in it. According to Tractordata, there does not seem to be a 3 cyl gas listed. Anyone know if this is correct? The tractor looks like a normal MF with hi-low range, and 2 stage clutch.
It has a basket case engine right now, am looking for another. What models were the gas perkins in?

Why not fit a diesel back in? If you can find a used diesel perkins then you will find the parts needed for the conversion. Perkins 3cyl gas engines tend to like the fuel whereas the diesel is real easy to fuel.
My thoughts....Sam

The 202 was a 4 cyl Continental gas engine, 6 speed trans (3 fwd. high and low). Some had dual stage clutch some did not.
The 203 was a Perkins diesel, same transmission as the 202.
Far as I know the 202 never had anything other than the 4 cyl Continental.
If you could post some pics or get a serial number etc. that would help.
There was also a 204 and 205, the 204 being same as a 202 but with "instant reverse" and the 205 being like the 203 but with "instant reverse". The instant reverse is a set of pedals operated by your right foot, one on either side of the gas pedal.

Most 202s came with Continental Z134 gas, but some came with the Perkins gasser. The 203 came with the Perkins diesel. I had a basket case z134 and was able to buy everything from AGCO 8 years ago (shares many parts with the MF35 and others that ran the Z134) for a total rebuild. You"ll probably have more luck finding a Z134 than a perkins gas. I don"t know if the Z134 or Perkins diesel will bolt right up for you.

I am currently working on a Massey for a neighbor. It is a 202 according to the tag but it IS a diesel. I was trying to find info about it but am running into trouble because I find nothing on the 202 with a diesel engine. Any help would be appreciated.

Any idea how to tell the year? Will the manuals on ebay tell me how much oil pressure it should have hot? It has 55 psi at full throttle and 25 at idle. After it warms up it is 50 and 20. Thanks for the info.

The serial number would tell you the year but if the serial number tag says it's a 202 and it has a diesel engine then there is no telling just what year it is because some of the parts have been swapped.
