I am trying to remove this stubborn head off my 44, nuts all off been soaking the bolt studs with AREOKROIL penetrating oil, cracking it with hammer and wood. need some advice.thanks

Stuff some rope in the #1 and #4 cylinder and then bump the starter a few times. When the 2 piston come up they will push up on the head. Try to get the same amount of rope in each so as to have it push up on the head even lee. You can also do a oil fill of the cylinders but that can make one heck of a mess

Hey David my dad years ago told a story about a 6 cylinder car straight that is and them not being able to get the head off. Some one got the bright idea of starting it up and my dad said they tried that and it fired up and the head flew off and landed in the back seat. It was a convertible by the way

Yep and good thing it was a soft top or it could have made one heck of a dent in the roof

Do you have the 2 small nuts off by the thermostat housing? I have seen guys force the head and then they broke in that area.
