MF35 Tractor

Hello all,
I have acquired my father-in-law"s 1963 Massey MF35 tractor with multipower. I will use it mainly for disking and bush hogging. I am not familiar with multipower. When should I be using low multipower and high multipower.

Mostly use high and just use low for going through tough spots, starting in a high gear or slowing down a bit to turn. There is no engine breaking in low and a tractor can't be push started if it has multi-power. When it works properly multi-power is a great feature to have.

Sometimes when gear changing the gears will lock up,shift to low to release or push the clutch fully down to disengage drive to the pump. As you get used to the tractor, you will get to the stage where you never let this lock-up happen. It is caused by letting the tractor roll back slightly when facing uphill or vice-verca.Also if you need to work in low for long periods shift to high every now and then to lube the front top bearing of the gearbox.
