Does anyone no what the spring going to the governor length is supposed to be? I cant get the governor to work with the mess that is on it. I think that one is to long because I can put a shorter one on and it will work. I tried adjusting the linkage per the manual but didnt make any diffrence with the mess on it. And anouther question the adjusting screw on the governor what does it adjust other than the tension on the spring inside the governor? My manual doesn"t say anything about adjustment or anything else about it rather than it"s a adjusting screw?? Thank"s if anyone can give me any help!!

I have some springs at home. If i remember i will measure them for you. The adjustment screw is a bump stop that eliminates a surge at idle. You are only to turn it in as far as it takes to make unit idle smoothly but not as far in as to increase idle speed.

I have a new srping at home that i measured up. Overall length center to center on hook wire is 4.7 inches. Coil to coil is 3.5 inches. Spring diameter is .595 inch. There are 38 coils and wire diameter is .100 inch. There is also a plunger that fits inside the spring. This measures .375 inch round and is 4.3125 inch long solid steel. I purchased this spring and plunger from Kessels Massey Parts and Sales. KesselsMasseyPartsAndSales.com. Check them out. They have a lot of randoms and reproduction hard to find parts.
