Inno 09-15-2012 18:49:10 65.95.123.154 Report to Moderator	Went and picked up the TO-35 that I looked at a couple weeks ago. The high points - took the carb from my 202 and a new sediment bowl and she fired right up and sounds pretty good - Transmission seems to have VERY little wear, much more precise than my worn out 202 which seems to have almost no stops, just kinda point the stick where you want it to go. On the 35 you must make an effort to hit the gear you want. - No transmission "whine" in any gear, it's especially noticeable on my 202 in reverse and in the low ranges. The 35 has a very quiet transmission -tires are in pretty reasonable shape, the rears should last a good long time I think, one of the fronts might need replacing sometime soon The slightly lower points - clutch needs some adjustment (not a big deal) or maybe with the transmission not being as loose as my 202 I'm just not used to it - a few minor leaks which I think will be easily fixed - a minor stutter or miss which I had with my 202 but cleared it up (for the most part) with electronic ign. and a new manifold gasket. - there is some rust in a few areas, battery box will have to be rebuilt - governor is not working properly, hopefully just some cleaning and adjustment - carburetor needs rebuilding (already knew that and bought kit) - seemed to be burning a tiny bit of oil on initial startup but it hadn't been running properly in over a year so I'm not getting too worried about that just yet. All in all it look like it either has very low hours or had very good maintenance. First order of business will be to undress her, remove the loader in it's entirety. While test driving it around the yard this evening I had flashbacks to the way the 202 was before I built the power steering for it, very difficult to control. With the extra weight off and an implement on the back I think it will be a lot better. Once that is off it will make working on it so much easier. Pics and maybe a video to follow when I have time. I think I'll "undress" her for now and pretty her up a bit and see how she handles with rear implements in place. If the loader were to stay power steering would be a must. I almost pulled my shoulder out of joint trying to hold on to her on some trails I have with a few small stumps sticking up. I forgot what life was like before power steering. I remembered quickly though! I may re-purpose some of the loader parts to make a brush grapple for the 202, that is something that would come in very handy for a lot of the cleanup I'm doing. The battery 2x6 will be gone soon enough once I get a lower profile battery or convert to side terminals. You wouldn't happen to have a spare hood latch kicking around would ya Tony? I believe it should be a push button no? Perhaps that's a small detail I should worry about later. I have next week off work so I will be doing some work to it and hopefully with it. Might try to get the loader off one evening this week. With regard to power steering, I think it may get power steering eventually even if I do leave the loader off. The 202 still has it's power steering pump in place although it might be in rough shape. I probably wouldn't need something quite as robust as the system I put on the 202 but we'll see what parts might fall into my lap in the next little while. That's why it's good to post pics on here, many people have a pretty good eye for things. What I had noticed was when I looked down at the tires from the seat I could see the hub on the right side but not on the left. Didn't put much thought into it after that. The 5 rib implement tyre is too wide to not rub the tie rod end, hence the rim needs to be reversed. Inno should not burden himself with a tractor in such a condition... he should give it to one of us... bah humbug. That's quite unlikely wouldn't you say Watson??? I wonder if all TO35's have a 2x6 on the battery? Mine do... that's a decent loader... maybe another power steering project is in the cards??? [Reply]  [No Email]

I sat it beside the 202 for comparison, the 35 looks small in comparison even though it's not really. The 202 is just "beefier". Took a choppy video but didn't think to take any pictures. Hey the dollar store kinda places down here - big lots? Had JAZZ snapshot and video cameras for $25, first didn't last too long, told the manager and she gave me another that holds up good, but goes thru batteries, it's not a rechargeable in the camera. Yes we have other cameras but after having gone on our anniversary to look at the tractor then going yesterday for the day to pick it up there are a few other things which take priority over getting tractor pics on the internet..........but believe me, it's weighing VERY heavy on my mind!
