NCMau 09-13-2012 06:37:14 174.110.228.151 Report to Moderator	My 202 has an annoying PTO oil leak. I am having difficulties in locating the proper seal. Can you steer me in the right direction? Looking in my limited service manual, looks like just removing the bearing retainer, the shaft should slide right out without complications, right? If I don't have to replace the bearing, do I need anything else beside the seal and the O ring? [Reply]   [No Email]

The seal should be available from Sparex. Second pic is the power shaft ready to remove using the method explained by DavidP, Strip off all collars etc and then the ring/housing around the shaft will pull out with the shaft. Remove a snap ring and drive out the seal ,fitting is a reverse process but don't damage the seal metal housing. turn the shaft back and forth to align the splines on refitting. DavidP, South Wales 09-13-2012 13:09:13 2.101.102.6 Report to Moderator	Re: PTO leak in reply to NCMau, 09-13-2012 06:37:14   Hi, You reak may be caused by grass wrapped around and inside the dust lip in the seal. There may also be wear or pitting in the area that the seal lip runs on. A repair collar should be available for it. This is a very thin bush that slides over the shaft and provides the seal with a new face. Although it is only the O ring that holds the housing in place they can be difficult to remove due to rust and debris around them. Ihave a slide hammer with a cup which fits over the end of the shaft and is retained for removal by a 5/16 bolt through the cup and radial hole in the shaft. The yoke from a drive shaft can be fitted and suitable pry bars used on each side to lever it out. Replacement of the seal is simple using suitable large sockets or tube.
