I ran across a massey ferguson 65 that a guy has for sale. He is the second owner and says it is in excellent condition, and has been shed keep except for a few weeks before he bought it. It is a gas and has a mid mount sickle mower on it and that is about all it has been used for. I dont know the hours on it, but he wants $4500 for it. Im curious if this is a fair price or if its a little high. Would be glad to hear any opinions on this. Thanks

3500 to 4k around here for an average tractor. Real good shape? 4500 or so. Add 1000 if it comes from a dealer... A scrap worthy 65 is worth 2500 here in north central WV.

I would say $2500 would be tops for a very good 65 with good tires. It's just not a good market in this ecomony. There is just not a lot of people wanting the 65. I buy several tractors 400 for good condition other than motor not running up to 900 if motor runs. You can put alot of money into one real quick plus tires. When you start on one everything will be worn out, just 50 years of use. Make a low offer you can always come up. I'm in Paris Tx

4500 it would have to be a pretty solid machine with a solid restore and i would wanna hear things like it has a new clutch, recent motor rebuild and good new or almost new rubber. Older tractors are going up in price despite the economy because new tractors are going up in price despite the economy. post some pics if you could.
