Looking at a 33 with a bad clutch.

Can the clutch be replaced from above, or does the tractor need to be split?

you do not split them undo the coupler and remove two rear mount bolts [AND FRONT TWO ] do not lift the front of the engine. lift rear of engine just so coupler will pass over the rear part pull bolts on bell housing and slide it back and out. when putting back together make SURE the shimes under the front mount did not fall out.[ i put small bolts in the holes that you have removed bolts from so they stay in place. do not leave the oem bolts in they will bust the front mounts
