Make sure you run it before you buy it. If it has the 24 speed make sure it works right. The shifts are normally a bit harsh, but it should engage well and not feel like any thing is dragging. If it is still running well at this age there is a good possibility that the trans had been fixed/updated. Just remember to pay for a disposable tractor. I have a 2805 that I use around here. For what I paid for it, I can go buy another one if it takes a dump on me.I have some suspicions about some of the trans failures. A friend that worked for a dealer told me that one day they ran a 2805 up to 450 hp on the dyno, that was the limit of the dyno, and I suspect would do in the tranny pretty quick. |
