My tach on my 165D (203) jumps around alot If I throttle it up slow it will stay there for a minute But as some as I hit a little bump it goes back to jumpin around from 1350-1750RPM I tought I read read something about this on here about a year ago but i look back in the archives an didn't find anything |

| Check that your speedo cable it tight on each end, it may just be about to give up! New cables are not expensive from aftermarket suppliers. Sometimes the square on the internal cable gets worn. If that is not the case then it has to be the tach itself. Sam |

| | might try taking off the cable. pull out the interior cable and lube it good with dry graphite. also try taking the speedo off dash and pour dry graphite onto the hole in the back where cable attaches. worth a try before you buy a new one. |

| Just replaced one on my IH tractor for $6.95. Just measure and go to a good auto parts store. |
