Hello everybody, I recently bought a 1130 Massey and charged the batteries up to see if it would fire and wouldn't turn the fan over more than just a half a inch every time you click the key. Sign of maybe being froze up a little bit? Are you able to pull start these? I was told the tractor ran perfect a year ago but the water pump was going out and the clutch was stuck from sitting out and not being used. Any suggestions anybody? Thankyou |

On my 1130, I can turn it over by simply turning the fan and putting a little pressure on the belts. Although my tractor does need a rebuild, mine also had the clutch stuck when I bought it, it would start but only when out of gear, I ended up having to send the tractor in and had them split it, replace the clutch and throw out bearing, it was the bearing was stuck to the shaft and would not move.

No you can t pull it, but make sure you pull the unloader valve when trying to start it.(ring on the floor in front of the seat.

Well, I pulled the starter off and tried to stick a pry bar in there to turn it over and it still didn't want to move. When I put the starter back on clicked it over still clicked and moved just a tiny bit. By pulling that unloader valve up, what all does that decompress?

Take off the starter and using a pry bar in the starter teeth ease the engine round a couple of turns, then if that seems free check out your starter and electrical connections, sitting causes corrosion or at least lets it form on the terminals and connections. Good luck...Sam
