Having hydraulic problems with my "57 or "58 Massey Ferguson, 50. Arms will not lift while tractor is in or out of gear. Problem started slowly, first evident when arms would not drop while in gear; I kept raising and lowering control until they finally dropped. Then a couple of hours later, arms would not lift at all. I"m relatively new with hydraulic troubleshooting, help! Thanks!

Arms not dropping sounds like a stuck valve on your pump. Not lifting could be a number of different things. When did you last check not only the level but the quality of the fluid? Could it be full of water and a milky color? Many guys start with draining and refilling.
From there some other things you could check without removing the top cover would be the o-rings on the stand pipe, the linkage to make sure it is moving properly and actually moving the valve on the pump. This you could check by draining some fluid then removing the side cover (the one eith the dipstick).

The pump gets hot and looses pressure. My MF50 has 90 wieght fluid. If fluid is low the pressure will drop to zero. This pump is really hard to change it is way down in the assembly below the visible gears when you look down the fill hole. If you may be using the wrong kind of 90 wieght fluid, problems can be caused with the 80-90 that you buy for cars rear deferentials. Better to buy 90 wieght only. Mine has been loosing pressure for years but I don't use it very often so have not replaced the pump.
