Jason S. 07-27-2012 15:01:02 174.252.182.72 Report to Moderator	Sometimes when baling hay my 175 runs warmer than I think it should. The radiator fins are clean...water pump has been changed and it runs around halfway or a little more on the gauge....and it is a Massey gauge. I was looking on here and noticed they show a 6 blade fan...mine is a 4 blade. Which is it supposed to have for a 175 8 speed diesel? Thanks for all your help. [Reply]   [No Email]

Same thing was happening to my MF35 and I couldn't figure out what was going on... Fortunately, my dad taught me to try the simplest/cheapest things first... Knew I had found the problem when I could only see through about 50% of the radiator... blew out the debris (from back to front) with an air-hose... tractor runs cool-as-a-cucumber now... :)   [Reply]  [No Email]

Check your corners and blow it out with air. With the engine cool, flush it out with a garden hose. I think you will be amazed with the junk you will wash out. It helps alot!   [Reply]  [No Email]

If you bring it with you usualy the dealer will test it for free with a cap tester. If coolant has a rusty color then: Radiator and block may be dirty inside with rust and old antifreeze byproducts you may buy radiator/block flushing product at auto parts and replace the old antifreeze. Good quality antifreeze/coolant is better than plain water for cooling. I do not remember hoses placement on 175 is it possible that the lower radiator hose collapse when running ? DavidP, South Wales 07-27-2012 15:17:15 2.101.133.78 Report to Moderator	Re: 175 cooling fan in reply to Jason S., 07-27-2012 15:01:02   Hi Jason, whilst the fins might be clear the tubes might be partially blocked and that would cause a higher running temp. Baling should not necessarily cause the tractor to run hotter as it does not have a heavy power requirement. Have you tested the thermostat? It would be worth removing the thermostat and running the tractor in similar conditions without it or take a chance and replace it. It is probable that your fan can only be fitted one way but its worth checking. Do you have a A4.236 engine? Several fans are listed in the Bepco book. For the 175 with the 236 a 16" metal two piece is listed. A six-blade is listed for 236 engines but does not show it for the 175. There is also aplastic 8 blade fan listed for all 212, 236 and 248 engines so the pulley mounting would appear to be the same on all of these. DavidP, South Wales   [Reply]  [No Email]

I have thought about replacing the thermostat but it doesn't run hot pulling anything else. The dealer I got the tractor and baler from said that tractor should have plenty of power for that baler. I can't find anything wrong with the baler that would cause it to pull the tractor so hard that it would run hot. The baler is a 504G Vermeer. The dealer did tell me to check the air intake hose and see if it is collapsing...it doesn't seem to be collapsing to me so I do know what to try next.   [Reply]  [No Email]
