Hi,
I have a TAFE 45DI with the lower link shaft leaking.
I have unbolted the housing and it appears to be stuck...maybe with sealant.
I have knocked it lightly with a hammer and tried a little chiseling. I'm not bold enough push it any further.
I would appreciate any advice.
TIA |

| Yes, all of the nuts were removed.
Yes, there is a gasket and sealant holding the housing on. |

| Hello, I've just looked at some photos of the 45DI. It has the common round axle. The first question would have to be whether you are absolutely sure that all of the studs and nuts have been removed. I have never had any difficulty removing a MF axle but have had problems with other makes such as Iseki where they use a sealer. In this instance the tractor was supported under the chassis and with a very small gap under the outer end of the axle. It was left overnight and by the following morning the weight of the axle had broken the seal. When applying any force it is always advisable to leave several nuts in place but slackened off about 1/4" to allow the axle to move but not fall. Have you checked with your dealer whether there is sealer, a gasket or an O ring there? If there is no sealer check those nuts again. DavidP, South Wales |
