MF tool MFN 970

I am inquiring for an elderly gentleman who has a MF 165 gas. He wants to adjust the internal hydraulic linkage setting. The manual calls for a "gauge", part #mfn 970, that is required to make this adjustment. This tool apparently is no longer in production. There are 2 cover thicknesses this tool will work for(according to the manual). The cover thickness on this model is 1 1/8". A 3/8/" steel plate or bolt is not the correct thickness.
I have seen the photo of this tool. Seems rather easy to fabricate if you have the dimension specs which we do not have.
Would appreciate any help locating a tool or specs.

Hi David,
For some reason the special tools made for MF by VL Churchill in the UK do not share common numbers with the US special tools. They should however be the same. Which adjustment does your friend wish to carry out. All adjustments are important and should be carried out in the correct order. From your description it sounds a little like the MF 272 ram arm tool. This is essentially a length of square bar with pegs to locate in two of the hyd cover bolt holes.
If you could post a photo of the tool or even a sketch I can probably help you with the dimensions from my MF tools.

David,
I"ve attached 2 pages from the mf 165 manual.
One is just a cover page fyi and the other is the page from the hydraulic adjustment section showing the use of the tool. Does this give you the info needed to provide the tool specs?
