I purchased a M.F. Mod 1233 4WD last fall for my camp. It is in good condition. I used it a little last fall ýto put up some firewood but did not use it much this past winter.ý
When I went to the garage to get it out last week there was a puddle of oil on the floor on the inside of ýthe left-front wheel on the 4WD axle.ý
They want $79 for a parts manusl so I'll solicit info. on this site beore I invest in one. I am thinking that it ýis a seal problem? I am not hard on my equipment.ý

Hello Joe,
The MF 1233 is a badge engineered Iseki tractor.
Does it or has it had a front loader on it. I have had experience of several MF and Iseki tractors failing at the front hubs. If you can be sure that the oil is from the hub seal it could be a case that the swivel hub has been overfilled. You will see the level plug on the casing by turning the steering to full lock.
The problems that I have encountered have mainly been caused by the failure of the inner bearing on the hub shaft. This in turn causes the crown wheel and pinion to run out of line and chew the teeth up. Check the oil in each hub and the centre differential casing. Jack up the wheel and holding it at top and bottom check for play in the bearings. If there is a problem there it should be quite evident. Do not use the tractor any more until you have removed the outer part of the housing and inspected the damage if present. Look in particular for damage on machined where the inner bearing locates. A photo of a typical Iseki hub is shown above/below and may be the same as yours.
