MF-240-S 3-Point Lift

I'm hauling heavy mulch and spreading it, out of a 2-wheel wagon. When I get the center of gravity of the wagon/mulch past the rear wagon wheels, the wagon tips UP, the draw-bar and hitch tips all the way UP, and the load shifts. Is there a way to make the 3-point lift go only so far up, and hold it there, and stop, no farther, so it doesn't tip and dump?
Thanks.

I don't think so. If you can, you'd be better off towing from the fixed draw bar, rather than the one across the 3pt lift arms for that type of work.

That's when a swinging drawbar is handy. Many years ago there was an aftermarket set of braces from the lower links to the top link, that held your style drawbar still. But locked at a certain height. You could improvise something like that. I'm sure some one on here knows where's theres a pic of one.

These are just some of the types of drawbar we use over in Britain. You will see we use the pickup hook a lot, but not for much PTO work, then we go back to the swinging drawbar. First pic is the modern version. Then the 70s type rod hitch on a 500 series tractor, then the 100 series chain hitch, all these hitches can easily take the swinging drawbar instead of the hook. Next is the old style 'T' bar pick up hitch, followed by the French type of swinging drawbar and the high pull type of drawbar used on the European Continent . The green belly shows the type of genuine bars you need to set the height on your tractor but beware these can bend if asked to stop a load rearing up, they are more for carrying a weight, My final pic is the one that should have been first as it is the simple Ferguson model 'A' drawbar.

I knew you would come through for us Sam. The ones on the green belly...I bought 8 pieces for $5 at a show a couple years ago. He thought they were an early sway bar kit, I thought so too... we was mistooken....

Re: the tractor with the registration number XPX 975L. Those chain lift hitches were utterly rubbish weren"t they!
