Can anyone identify this Massey?

Saw this for sale, owner doesn't know the model. It is a gas engine Massey, year unknown. Ad says it needs carburetor work. Please reply with model number if you know what it is, and any comments about the carburetor repair such as parts availability

Too bad there is not a better picture. I'm really not sure of the model but a couple things I noticed are the shape of the dash and the location of the exhaust. Unless it's been painted it's an industrial tractor. You might try external_link, the have a listing of different models of industrial MF tractors. Punch the model numbers into google, click images and see what comes up.

As far as I know carburetor parts are readily available for most MF tractors.

I think the shape of the dash is wrong for a 204. There is also a lever on the left side of the dash which a 204 would not have. I have a 202 which is the same as a 204 except the 204 has instant reverse, neither one have a lever on the dash like the one in your picture.

I'm sure someone else will have a suggestion as to what it might be.

Could use some more info to help you. Is it 3
cylinder or 4 cylinder? Does it have a heavy duty
frame around the rad? Looks like it could be a 2200
or maybe a 202 or a 40. Some more pictures would
help and it might still have the tag on it.

Might be a turf 20, if its a 3 or 4 cyl gas. Also might be industrial 20. Lever on left might be a trans reverser. I think that's where it was on my turf 20.

Went and looked at it today. Faded decal appears to say MF40. It has a leak at the gas tank seam, someone tried to seal it with foam and owner thinks it got in the carburetor. He says engine is rebuilt and only problem is carb. The 3 point arms were chained in the up position, makes me think the lift doesn't work. One lift arm had a weld repair. Radiator fins had some damage but it is holding water. Front grill and battery cover missing. Will attach photos. Also has a loader to sell with it, bucket has a horizontal crack at bottom, levers are stuck. He's asking $800 for tractor, not sure what he wants for loader. So at a minimum I need a new gas tank, rebuild carb. What do you all think? And what is that lever on left side of dash?

I guess it depends on what you want to do with it. If you are looking for a project, it would likely be a good candidate and the price is not too bad providing it will run with minimal work. If you are looking for something to work with soon then I don't think it's the tractor for you.
What are your needs?

I have a MF40, mine is a 3cyl Perkins diesel. Mine has a MF32 loader on it. Same manual shuttle transmission as yours.

I'm just looking to fix it and sell it. My thoughts were to get it running well and paint it. He has the backhoe attachment for sale as well as the loader. Anyone know a good source for a carb rebuild kit and a gas tank that will fit this? I found a gas tank that fits an MF35, would that fit a 40?

Without the backhoe and loader you might have a hard time selling it. Click on "tractor parts" in the upper right hand corner of this site. They have a good selection of parts at reasonable prices with good customer service. I've purchased a number of things from here for my 202.

Dan P your loader is an MF34 not an MF32. MF32 loader does not have 4 bar bucket linkage. Very good loaders and tractors.
