30e industrial wiring question

Recently purchased a 30e industrial with loader to use around the farm. The tractor has a few wiring issues and I am starting to fix them now. Does any one know how the electrical charging indicator light works? The alternator or dynamo is charging as the battery voltage jumps to 14.6 volts when the engine is revved but the warning indicator light continues to illuminate. It will go a little dimmer at high engine rpm but it never entirely goes off. Is there a sensor for this light? I don"t have a wiring diagram or know where to get one. This tractor is very similar to a 240-250 ag tractor and has the same warning light indicator. Any help will gladly be appreciated.

Hi, You are likely to have an alternator. When the alternator starts it effectively switches off the earth line from the bulb, hence you know its charging. Would appear to be an alternator fault. Can you have it tested easily?

Thanks David,
Yes it is an alternator. The alternator is charging but I will need to find the ground wire and switch to this light. Is the ground switch located inside the alternator?

The light is powered by +12 volts from the ignition switch, engine off and the ground/earth/return is in the alternator. When the engine is started the alternator also develops 12-14 volts and the potential across the light is zero-the light goes out. should the alternator fail the lamp will light with the engine running,as a warning of no charge. The fault in your alternator or wiring, can you have the alternator checked at an electrical repair shop?
