G-176 continental versus Z-135

Searching for information about replacing the Z-134 in my TO-35 with a G176 continental from a M-F 65. Are they the same size as far as out side as the Z-134? It looks like the starter, dist. and carb. are located in about the same areas on both engines. Will it bolt up to the transmission. Will the TO-35 radiator keep it cool ? Any body ever done this? If it will i can make use of the MF-65 parts tractor that's headed to the scrapper. They were both made in about 1979. :) __JIM

You are right,I knew that but big fingers a little keyboards foul me up some times. I know the TO-35 is a 59 I'v allready checked that out. The engines look a lot alike but i can't find the ID. number on the 65 as it's been stripped for parts by somebody else before i recieved it. Now can you help?

The g176 is a dimensionally taller/longer engine. The 65 has a similar radiator to a 50 which has a z134. You may need to space the hood for heighth and length. Can't remember what the lower radiator hose looks like on a 134, but the upper is the same. I would try it. Worst case scenario is you have to rebuild the 134 and have a 176 to sell. Can't imagine it being too difficult to turn for a profit.

Thanks 'aaron ford' I'm not concerned about hoses and small brackets, modifying the hood ect. I m and old hot rod builder from way back and i can do those .My concern would be making all the connections with clutch and housing . I would not want to have any custom parts made to do it,unless they were some small parts, if that was the case i would just rebuild the engine that's in it. Anymore information that anybody else has that can be passed along will be very helpful . :) __JIM
