Anyone have a idea where I can find...

Looking for some parts for my 33 Massey Harris.. 44 should be the same as well as other models, but have not looked it up to be sure.

Parts are:

14329A Ring, Snap, Main Shaft (need at least 2)
760731M1 Ring, Snap, Sliding Gear Stop (need 1 or more)

These numbers are obsolete through AGCO..

They're not a "normal" snap ring (as you should be able to tell in the picture of mutilated parts I've posted.. They call them "eaton style retainer rings". I've tried to source them, and have called a few places that specialize in those kind of things.. The problem is, if I can get one to fit the shaft properly, it is too "narrow" to fit the groove properly.. One place can have them MADE for me.. but that makes me even more nervous, as it'd likely break the bank, and I don't see where I could return on my investment so to speak.. (just don't see much a call for them, and I'm sure there'd be a fairly large minimum quantity).. One was pretty tore up in the beginning.. One launched like a rocket (and have looked for 2 evenings now) and I tore one up myself trying to get it off.. thinking no big deal, it's just a retaining ring..

I'm open to new or used (or where I may find em), or suggestions on what I could do to alleviate the problem (was thinking about doubling/tripling regular ol' external snap rings until the groove is full.. but unsure how that would really work out)

Thanks for ideas in advance..

Hi Brad, Your MF or any farm equipment dealer can
get you the 760 731M1 rings. There are two in
Chilton, Wi. at "The Depot" www.depotparts.com or
1-800-743-3768. They must be ordered thru a Dlr.
If no dealer helpful I'm sure they can recommend
one. If your dealer didn't help you with this then maybe didn't try checking the online inv.of
other dealers. Chuck

Chuck,

Thank you.. They did give me a print out of what other dealers had that I was looking for.. It turned up most of the other parts, but not these..

Depot Parts was what I was trying to think of when I was there the other day.. I'll have them check into getting that for me next time I stop in there..

I may just wait to trouble the dealer much, as right now most folks are trying to harvest still, and I feel bad bothering them about trivial things such as this during the "busy season"..

Gerald, thanks for that tip as well.. I'll ask at NAPA next time I visit there (probably a little later this afternoon)

You might try a John Deere dealer. I have run across these things before. Nasty little critters to get out. Wear good eye protection when you are working with them.

They look very much like the rings in the hydraulic
cylinders on a JD 46A loader. Don"t have any
numbers, just what they look like to me.

David,

How could I contact either of them?

Good friend of mine has MANY massey's that aren't good for much more than parts, but nothing he's willing to let me tear into the transmissions of :(

Thanks,

Brad
