I run out of diesel on the back 40 trying to get home, run out of fuel and luck. I know the tractor is going to have to be jump started as battery wont stay up. but jumper box wont last long. Can the 175 D be bleed with lever alone ? or do I need to carry the battery back to the house and charge it to finish priming with fuel injector? .I haven"t had to bleed one in years, I do remember after I did it I swore I would never let it run dry again but I miss guessed by about 1/4 mile how long it would last.Any tips ? I remember last time I had to bleed all the injector lines just got to remember how I did it My OP Manual is not too clear on the pressure line connection at the injector, how to loosen it up. These new tractors are nice till they brake down. Mine is a 1972 But I must say it dose work better for the big stuff then my old TO 20 and not meany problems just harder to figure out. Wish I would have kept the TO running instead of just parking it. any advise on the bleeding, I would be very grateful for

You should be able to bleed the system with the lever alone. If you have another person to work with you, you could fire it with a just a sniff of ether to provide just enough to run it for a few seconds while it runs the last of the air out. Ether is a very volatile liquid and it can be very hard on pistons if not used with caution. No warranty expressed or implied...

first open the bleeder bolt on top of the fuel filter ,pump primer to flush out all air, next open bottom bleeder screw on the injector pump, pump primer until all the air is flushed out close it while fuel is escaping to make sure air doesn't get in, then open the top screw and do the same, next loosen the nuts about 1/2 turn that fasten each full line to the injector, set throttle to full fuel position spin engine over until fuel starts leaking around one of the lines tighten that line, spin engine again tighten the next line that leaks fuel, spin it again it may start before the third line is tightened be careful of high pressure fuel, once the third is tightened if it didn't start, spin it over until it tries to start or starts then thighten it up, you will need a good battery because the faster it spins the engine the easier it will start
