Hi Everyone
Just picked up a mf 55 wheel loader and know just about nothing about it.

I would appreciate any info on this unit you guys can give me. Even a web site that can help out.

thanks

Largest MF designed loader and first articulated MF designed loader. The 66,77 and 88 models were originally Loraine loaders and the smaller 33 and 44 loaders weren't articulated. From the world-wide gude to MF Ind and Constr. equipment: Perkins AV8-510 V8 diesel with 138 flywheel HP. Transmission is full power shift with with high and low range with 2 gears in each. Tire size is 20.5 a 25 with a wheelbase of 9ft. 2in. Standard bucket is 2 1/2 yd with lift capacity to full height of 12,450 lbs. Dump height is 9 ft. 4 in. and the reach is 2 ft. 10 in. Operating weight with standard bucket is 28,880 lbs.

I have seen one work clearing snow and it seemed like a good loader. I think most of the MF industrial equipment was very good in its day. Finding parts will be the biggest problem. Good luck with your new loader.

Thanks so much

I am now arranging transport to my property and needed that weight for the trucking firm. The loader runs well and I will be using it to rehabilitate an old lumber mill site. I will be moving 30 year old wood chips and soil around. I have a big shop so I will be keeping it inside. It is in good shape at this point.

If there are any web sites with information on these old rigs I would love to know where.

again thanks
George
