Best looking Massey?

My two Massey industrials (202 and 40) are giving me great service but they sure aren't much to look at. I've been browsing the Tractor Photos section, there sure are some fine looking Masseys, red with chrome trim and all.

What's the best looking Massey? Maybe when I'm done I'll get one and put it at the entrance to my driveway.

My favourite is the M_H 22 next is the 81 or mustang, colt and do not forget the little pony BUT I like all the MASSEY HARRIS TRACTORS I wish I had 2 of each

Personally, I'm kinda partial to this one. Yes, it would look good in your driveway. No, you can't have it.

1971 MF150, 8-speed, Perkins AD3-152 diesel.

I have never seen one close up, but i think the us built MF35 Diesel deluxe with PAVT wheels (spin out rims) is one of the best looking MF tractors of all time. It may be because its different to the tractors we are more used to in the uk. I would love to be able to own one here in the uk.

mf148 Should we tell them about the MF188? top of the
range,super-spec tractor with all the bells and whistles, but not
available in North America.

oo7 that looks just like mine It s a massey harris freguson 1957 the last year of the harris name i m like a proud daddy

A tractor in her working clothes is better lookin" as one of them shiny ones that hasn"t seen dirt is a while. As long as it ain"t green! Us little red tractor guys gotta stick together.

Not all green tractors are bad.... And besides, mine might have a new paint job but she stills gets dirty....

I saw one of those at the Newark (England)Vintage tractor show on Saturday. A very rare bird here indeed . It had been well restored apart from the fact that unlike the one in your photo, the back wheels appeared to be a little too big for it, which meant its seemed to dip slightly towards the front end. I liked the 100 series tractors very much but I just could not take to the 500 series at all.
Personally I like the look of the 1100 ,1130 and 1150 the best.

If you are talking British MH I love the design of the 744 and 745 tractors with the Perkins P6 and L4 engines. What had Fords got to offer the British market at that time? The oh so ugly E27N Major.

That was the exact picture I have hanging in my garage. I printed it off of YT when I was building my 65. When folks would come by and see what I was doing I could show them what I was working towards. I will post a pic of mine when I find one.

The 150 in the picture I posted below sees it's share of hard work (and dirt) The picture was taken right after it got repainted 4 years ago. Since then it's seen about 700 hours of use. They don't have to look like they've been left in a fence row just because they're workers. Sometimes a tractor is worth protecting from the elements.

Thank ya kindly sir! She's seen a few days in the field since that picture 4 years ago, but the paint is holding up well (better than the original paint I might add) Mostly hay work and bush hogging, but a good bit of time plowing and discing too. I'm hoping to get ANOTHER 40 years out of it!

The 150 was only offered in the US. A shame too...They were very popular tractors in the day. They feature everything that was good about a 135, and quite a lot of what made the 165 such a popular tractor.

They were originally equipped with 13.6X28 rears. (as shown here) When the first set wore out, I replaced them with 14.9X28's. That gave it the "running downhill" look. When I repainted the tractor, I also put new rubber on it. After seeing no obvious advantages to the larger tires, and the obvious ADVANTAGE of lower cost for the smaller size, I put 13.6X28's back on her. The 14.9's were almost 4" taller than the 13/6's.

Hi guys,
Could not resist adding a photo of my 'baby' on the first day out of the workshop.
I think the 165 is a great looker especially without a cab.

Hello danperkins,
We would have to differ over the 'standard' paint there. Standard for us in the UK is Stonleigh Grey. This should not be confused with Ferguson Light Grey used on many TE 20's.
