gas station

I ran across a Mechanics Illustrated last night November 1960. There is an advertisement for a Texaco toy gas station. Two bays with a lift, 4 pumps, lights. They even offered a Layaway, $3.50 to your door. I could never had that toy,Dad owned a Phillips 66 Station. :)

I don't remember if mine was any particular brand or not, but I had one of those gas stations. I remember it had a ramp so you could park cars on the roof and a plastic car lift that was sort of a scissor lift. Several different color cars, but most looked like 63 or 64 Chevys.

Is it one of these? Always wanted one.

Yeah, someone on eBay turned the ad into a sign.

Would also like one of these. It's a pedal car gas pump. Could use one as the tank on my '57 Fire Chief has been dry for about 40 years. :vD

I still have my " Texaco Tanker Truck", 4 axle semi that delivered the gas to the station. Seems like you got points at the station towards the purchase price. Mom always stopped at the Texaco station on the way out of town towards home, so about a month before X-mas when I was 4 or 5 yrs old I got mine. Tractor looked like about a 1957 GMC conventional. Just checked on E-Bay, several available for between $175 and $400.
