The replacement steel 3pt hitch for the 3010 looks pretty much like the original. The cast aluminum hitch requires a lot of filing and cleaning. The holes have to be drilled in the aluminum hitch.

I was looking at the cast hitch but I know its way beyond my skill level

You will have to drill the holes in the cast hitch. It takes time and patience. Not a lot of room. The holes in the upper arms have to be drilled as close the the edge as possible with a bit that is .60 or smaller.

You might want to look through Dakotah Toys misc pages for a take off hitch. They have several plastic ones.
