John Deere small frame 60 pedal tractor

I am restoring a JD small frame 60 pedal tractor and can't seem to get the body to separate. Got all the bolts out and chain off. The rear axle housings are riveted on so the axle want come out and the pedal shaft want come out as well. What am I missing here to get this thing to separate. I need to replace the axle bushings and pedal shaft bushings. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Well to replace those bushings you actually do it from the outside, so if you don't want to completely split it you don't have to. Otherwise your only option is either take the rear axle housings off or cut the pedal shaft in two and buy a new one. Johns pedal tractor parts sell a 3 piece pedal shaft that makes putting the pedal tractor back together easy. Small H farmall is the same, very frustrating.

Thanks for the reply. I spoke with Johns pedal tractors today and found that out. They say it's best to cut the pedal shaft and install the new three piece one. I buy lots of stuff from them. Good folks!!
