Got Wheels!

Thanks Stan -Florida for putting me on the right track to getting wheels from Daktoys for this thresher! They are exactly like the originals that were broken in shipping. I had fun New Years day cleaning up this toy and making "belts". My wife has long been a seamstress so had just what I needed for belt material. The wheels arrived yesterday so it was fun gettin 'er done.

Maybe the garbage disposal can handle it lol! I never forgot the story in the 2nd grade (1952 for me) reader book. Can't imagine what it would have been like to have toys like this at that age-- of course they'd been destroyed.

Yes, those toys probably would have been destroyed. When I was a little kid, probably in the early '40s, I had a cast iron team of horses with either a wagon or a manure spreader (don't remember which). They were probably Arcade or Vindex, but I didn't know about things like that - heck, I couldn't even read yet.

Anyway, I thought I'd fix them with a hammer - didn't work, got paddled.

Always glad to help! That sure makes a good-looking threshing outfit - you'll have to make the rounds of the neighborhood next summer.
