I have a 1939 John Deer B with the top tank that has Part number B1513R molded in its casting. But it is not the same B1513R that is shown in the parts manual. It has the 3 bolt patern for the muffler and a screw in Upper Hose Tube. Insted of the flat 4 bolt platform for the muffler with the hose tube atached as one piece Like the one shown in the parts catalog. I have serial number 70,129. at this point even my parts man at JD is stumped. ANY IDEAS. More info I have a 2 piece upper water pipe asembly instead of one like the book also shows.

Have your parts man check the 38 "B" parts book. I have a 39 and we use the 38 parts book for many of the parts. The three bolt mounted muffler will cost $ 80.00 + .

Steve, The illustrstion shown on page 52 of PC330, march 1960 shows the style of top tank used for sn 96,000-209999-model year 1941-early'47. Part key #15 is the '39-40 upper waterpipe. What part are you trying to find or question? Not all parts are illustrated . gwh

Steve, I'm having a like problem. Things don't match the parts book. Needed a radiator cap, but the one sent(right part # according to book) doesn't come anywhere close to fitting. Am beginning to think Mother Deere used whatever was available for the 39-40 B's. Pat

Pat, The parts book shows part # AB1621R as the correct cap for "B's" sn 60000-148499 and 167000 and up until end of production of B tractors, this is the large diam. round cap. Sn 148500-166999 (late 1943-4) is the cap for pressurized system used w/steel radiator cores and a different top tank-neck, this cap is smaller and has ears. gwh
