Hits on one. Boy does it idle nice, can count the bangs!!!! Have been told that mud daubers can screw things up through a breather hole. It's a WICO (not the original). How can I check this out without messing everything up. I'm not a mag man!!!!

Check the static timing on the flywheel to be sure it is timed right. When the tractor is running-remove the spark plug wire one at a time to be sure that both cylinders are firing. Also check the spark strength on both cylinders. Make sure that you are not using Champion spark plugs!
I have a 29 D that will not run on any new Champion plugs. Also check the point gap in the mag.

When a Deere "hits on one" it makes a funny noise. Some times they make that noise but there running on two cylinders. I don't know why that is. My M did that in cold weather but idled fine. Hope you get it running.

If you suspect it has an airflow problem, like Clooney says, take the air pipe off the front of the carb and see if that makes a difference. Rules out airflow if you still get the problem. If no change, swap plugs from side to side & evaluate. If no change swap plug wires to see. If nothing is helping or changing the problem, then post for more help.
