Pencil Injector Pop Testing Videos

I got an injector pop tester and got a line adapter built for the pencil injector threads. I tested my 6 injectors and got 2 that "clicked" and 4 that "didn't". I get a fog of fuel out of the 2 clickers, stream/dribble out of those that didn't.

First time pop testing for me, and I believe I know my answer already based on reading, but I'm curious what others see or think too. If nothing else I thought it might be helpful to show the difference between the two.

The second injector MIGHT just need a good cleaning, or if the lift limit screw is set wrong they will act like that also. Bent injectors will act that way too. Or it may just be junk..

reminds me of them oldsmobile diesel 5.7's , they had a lot of injector trouble. lots of times them knocking ones would just clear up them selves. so yes as said they might need to be cleaned and rechecked. I still have a few in my tool box.

The injector in the second video is likely toast unless you can revive it as per Dieseltech's suggestion. I pumped a fair amount of fuel conditioner through mine, that were acting the same, to no avail.

Looking back on some of the faulty injectors I tested, I remember being pretty rough on them during removal as I didn't have the slide hammer adapter to pull them properly. Given how flimsy they are, it wouldn't take much to bend them.

FWIW, with only 2 testing good I'd replace the whole set & keep the 2 for spares.

More proof that everything should be actually tested instead of just looked at . Too often there is just "hope" that components will work .
