It is a nice change over, if it is a gas 4020 the throttle linkage is a challenge since it is on the wrong side, if it ia an early 4020 the front pulley will need altered and I have the dimensions for that,,, I can help you with it when your ready, I have switched many of them, and the 4230 style engine works out the best.

Tim a neighbor just bought a 466 and wants to put it in a late 4020 gas. What will need changed? Will the front crank pulley and what about the water pump? Anything need done to the flywheel? Thanks Tom

It will fit nicely, but the throttle linkage is the ornery part,,there are several different linkages so it can be hard to match up,,If you can switch it out with a salvage yard linkage it is best,, and do it while the engine is out,,it give you a lot more room to make the switch,, the front pully will match up on a late 4020,, but not an early,, the reason is it will tighten up against the front cover,, the fly wheel will inter change,, if your 466 has 6 fly wheel bolts you will need to plug 2 of the holes with an Allen screw with lock tight,,and don't for get about installing the pilot bushing..
