Is there a secret I don't know? We are tearing this A down for restoration. I took the cotter pins out of the large castle nuts on the axles. Loosened nuts a little and pried between them with a wood block. The axles moved out a little bit. Next I loosened the nuts more, and pried between the gears and the housing. The gears easily slide on the axle. I tried to pry between the axles to move them out more, but they will not budge. I did not see anything else like a clip or flange that is holding the axles in. Am I missing something or do I just need to be patient? We haven't got our repair manual yet. Thanks, Fireman

first I would check to see if the outer felt retainers had screws holding them in I think some early tractors had them , if so take them out.On
later tractors with retainers held in by press fit
I let the axle push them out so they can be reused, but use new felts if you can get them.I use a gradualy tapered pry bar and pry and or drive it in between the nuts do both axles at the same time looseing each one a little at a time as
you need one to push against to get the other out.

I looked for screws and could not find any. I guess I will have to use a little patience! Thank both of you for your help. Fireman

The axle has tapered bearings in-board , behind the bull gear, that will need to slide from their mounting surface before removal becomes easier. Once they give, she'll come apart nicely.
