Looking to detach the Scraper from my JD840 Tractor so I can get it into my shop where I can work on it. How does a person detach the Scraper? It is not obvious by looking at it. Anyone have a manual on the 840 set up? Thanks

Does it have a Handcock scraper or a JD 400 scraper box???. Handcock you have the main fork over transmission case (As I recall) 2 caps at bottom of fork 1 on each side of tractor .4 bolts on each cap .Then pull or push lever to raise neck to rise over trans case . Note get some GOOD 6x6 wood or bigger blocking and block cutting edge as high is possible . To raise neck over rear drive axel housing . On a Deere setup pull horizon on hitch fork. Any blocking double what YOU think is safe ! All that stuff is heavy.

Do the hoses have quick disconnects? Looks like the hoses have screw together couplers. So when you raise the yoke from the tractor do yo have to block the scraper or just unscrew the couplers. Looks like the yoke does not raise high enough to clear the fender brackets. might have to use my boom truck to lift it a little higher.

Should have like (wing -nuts) on each hydrulic line at scraper neck. Now 50+ years someone may have changed them?? Hydraulic lines (should) be long enough to raise yoke over rear axel housing + rear fender bracket & move tractor forward enough to let yoke down .Then remove hydrulic lines with no pressure. First block cutting edge as high off ground as you can get it. Then remove caps on bottom of yoke. I'm trying to remember ? Does it have 2 brackets LH &RH sides that bolt to (front) of rear axel housing should have a pin in each bracket . Yes I think how it is!! Ya no need to remove bolts on caps on ends of yoke just use hydrulic up& down to remove pins .

Thanks, Got it off. My hoses were too short so I used my boom truck to lift the yoke high enough. Worked out well.
