Hp of 4039d engine

What is the horsepower of a non-turbo 4039d engine? Or are there different models and hp levels? I've tried looking on JD's website but cant find much. I thought I had read 60hp somewhere, but then I saw this old ad that said 75.

It would be going in a 2510, if there's any other details I need to look for. Thought I'd keep my eye out at auctions for an engine if I can pin down what to look for. Thanks!

Depending what the engine came out of, the HP could range between 50 and 80+. That engine is commonly used in gen sets, air compressors, pumps ,hydro seeders, small excavators, and straw blowers or as a skid mounted power unit.Any of them will bolt into a 2510 or 2520 with very little modification. Some of the power unit blocks have a thinner web thickness and may not take the added strain if the tractor has a loader installed and used hard.

Ok. I've seen some generators listed at auctions with this engine. Do you know, are the engines tagged with their rating somewhere or do I need to get their serial number and research it?

It won't have a loader or hard use really. This tractor is retired to pulling hay wagons and an occasional antique pull. The local club up'd the cut-off year to 1972.

Thanks for the answers so far everybody.

Did you over look "non turbo" in JLG's question? What factory application was this 80 HP engine NA utilized in?

Just pulled numbers out of mid air with a wild guess.

I should have worded my post better. I saw on the above ad that apparently a non turbo 4039 engine was available up to 75 PTO hp. I was under the impression that they were less than that and I was surprised they made that much without a turbo. My question should have been are there different versions and hp ratings of that particular engine? I got my answer though above.

Now I just need to watch some auctions.

I've got plenty of time. My 3 year old has claimed the 2510. Already calls it his tractor. I started pulling at 12, so I have about 9 years to get it restored and ready to go!
