I went to look at a b john deere today . The owner bought it in 1954. It had a two point hitch on it looked odd. I ask him were he got it, said it came with tractor and had the jd brand on it . kinda looked like a quick hitch. But I have never seen anything like it. Has any of the old timers ever seen anything like this.

Sounds like someone adapted a hitch from a John Deere M.

no totally different this is one of a kind and I've seen many. I think a person would have to be in there 90z to have maybe seen one like this. I know what a M hitch looks like.

Just a shot in the dark here. Try googling Deere Yakima hitch and look at some of the images that pop up. I think they were mainly a west coast thing, but they were a legitimate Deere attachment hitch.

Ok, here?s one I found.
Yakima hitch

I would bet it is a Yakima hitch. Here is a picture of one on the tractor.

Rick: that looks like the Yakama but I don't know how rare they are and I doubt they would be usable. I believe they were used for the first mounted plows. Now having said that you said this was a B but the exhaust and quadrant appears to be more like an A.

When dad bought his new B model in 1950, he also bought a
2-14 breaking plow that was mounted on a Yakima hitch.
It was always a hassle getting it on/off the tractor to do other jobs.
And, it was hard to get it set right. Didn?t like it and finally didn?t
use it anymore.
