The Transmission light continues to glow , I changed the Filter twice and cleaned out the inlet screen. I did find and "O" ring stuck the the filter on the first change so I'm assuming it is bypassing somewhere that's why it doesn't build up enough pressure to trigger the gauge. any Idea on where I should start to fix this problem? from what I have read sounds like I will need to split the tractor on replace the oil seals. anybody have any insight on this?

(quoted from post at 14:00:47 08/09/18) Check for proper function of the pressure sensor before tearing into the tractor.
Ben

True . The oil pressure sender switches do fail . My 1640’s low pressure switch is ka-poot at the moment .

If your tractor is equipped with hyd hi-lo &/or hyd ind pto check trans pressure in both nigh/low speed & with pto both on/off. Also check to be sure hyd filter relief valve isn't stuck open.

Have you unplugged the sender, a simple way to verify that it's not an electrical (short) issue?

Next step would be to verify the actual pressure with a mechanical gauge.

Yes I have unplugged the sender and then the light will go out. so I'm thinking its not an electrical issue. so where would I check the pressure at?

I did actually replaced the switch to make sure it wasn't the switch-- unfortunately nothing has changed

(quoted from post at 09:45:45 08/15/18) Yes the light stays on in both Low and High Range so how do I check the relief valve?

Check to determine that valve(keys 18-20)aren't stuck open in trans case.

I took the valve out, took it apart, cleaned it all up made sure it moved freely, but no success. do you know where I should concentrate on efforts to on splitting the tractor

No Loader---FYI everything thing seems to work except for low Hydralic pressure so where would I check the PTO pressure at?
