New to Deere and tractors

As part of acquiring a property in BC, I am acquiring an older John Deere tractor. I did not have much time to snoop around it for markings. Anyone could help me identify the model and what type of hitch should I expect?

Looks like a 510 or 710 German model, imported to Canada in the 1960s. Hate to say it, but they are not as good as other JD models. But, if cared for, they will work OK..Should have a standard 3 pth and drawbar. Good luck with it. Ben

This looks like a 310 to 710.
The 310 and 510 have 3 cylinders and the 710 has a 4 cylinders, identical to the Dubuque 2020 motor, but built in France.

Motor is very good, except for risk of cylinder liner erosion if Deere coolant is not used, and also one O ring only at the bottom of the sleeve that can make them leak easier.

The transmission is pretty robust, the brakes are getting weak over time. The hydrqulics are very simple and nothing to brag about (pretty small flow), and the electrical system is not phantastic. Power steering was not an option I think.

Overall a very simple and unexpensive tractor to run. They were known for doing 10000hr with no maintenance.
Even if they were built from 1965 to 1968, the chassis looks more like a tractor from the late 1950s.

Thanks for the heads up. I haven't had a chance to go and do anything with it (next month).

Here's more pics.

An update: I managed to start this ugly duckling. No problem there - on first try. Put it in gear and it wants to go... but the loader bucket is down an the hydraulics are kaput. Not slow, kaput.

The previous owner says it may be seals, pump. I wonder how hard it would be to fix that.

I'm still trying to figure out how it's all connected. New to hydraulics, too. H. pump is in the front. I don't see any cracked hoses, obvious leaks.

The filter might be my target...if I find it next time I'm up there.

I noticed there are bunch of empty hydraulic fluid canisters lying nearby. Also, my neighbour said that the hydraulics were slow before it quit.

I don't see a huge leak anywhere but it sits on dirt...

Hyd's slow before stopping leads me to believe filter is possibly clogged. I think from viewing 510 parts catalog that the tractor hyd filter is in upper part of rockshaft housing but since tractor has a frt auxiliary pump loader may have it's own hyd reservoir & filter.

PS: my comprehension of a foreign language of 510 parts catalog is nil to non.

Thanks for the tip. I'll be looking for it. :)
