245 Loader - Transferring from 2550 to 2750 w/ Cab

I posted this question on a Tractor Talk thread, but it got buried. Here's the thread if you're not up-to-date:

Long story short, I may be purchasing a 2750 SoundGard FWD. If so, I will be trading in my 2550 Open Station FWD with 245 loader. the 2750 doesn't have a loader (and allegedly never has). Buying a tractor that hasn't had a loader is very appealing, as I am hoping the odds are the tractor has seen a "less-rough" life, so to speak. However, this new tractor will be my "main chore" (only chore haha) tractor, and so a loader is needed.

I hope to transfer the loader from the 2550 to the 2750. Having never done anything like this before, I'm looking to gather as much information as possible before I try to delve in.

As far as I know, I should be able to "swap" any major parts I need from one tractor to the other, such as the oil filter canister. It looks like the 2750 has the engine side plates. I think the only thing I'll run in to is needing a new joystick assembly, and possibly control valve (and maybe an occasional hydraulic hose or fitting) that are compatible with the SoundGard cab. My current set up has the joystick assembly (and valve?) mounted onto the loader body under a cowl.

Is there any thing else I need to look for if I end up tackling this job?

Thanks in advance!

IIRC loader mounting brackets & loader will fit new to you tractor just fine. Yes you need a different joystick control handle with cables because you don't want hyd hoses in cab.

Should be a bolt on for the most part, but you may have to modify the mounting
brackets by the battery boxes.

How do they differ on the open station vs. the SoundGard? Do you mean the actual side plates that bolt up against the engine, or the "bottom half" of the loader frame, that attaches to those side plates and runs all the way back to the rear axles?

When I view 245 parts catalog mounting frames for cab & open station tractors appears to be identical with a few differences in attaching hardware for cab vs OS. I think cab battery boxes will not interfere with mounting brackets.

The "new" joystick control "box" and cables -- will those cables marry right to my existing control valve, or will I need something to adapt it?

Dependent on type of cables you acquire you might need attaching blocks(key 13) but the spool valves should be identical.
