'68 4020 air pre-cleaner question

My 4020 has a baffled / oil bath pre-cleaner clamped on top of the air intake pipe of the main oil bath air cleaner.
The container for the oil is a Ball Mason Wide Mouth Special, one pint jar.
Is this normal? Is it OEM or after market?
It works very well in trapping New Mexico dust before it is sucked into the main oil bath filter.

O.k, When I got the tractor there was a pint of oil in it. I've been keeping oil in it since then.
I'll stop doing that.
Was this after market? No markings on it but is well made and heavy duty.

Thank you for the info.
Here is the pre-filter after cleaning up.

Ha-Ha-Ha..... It's Exactly what I thought it was when I read about the Mason jar in the original post,
It's the intake breather off probably a W-9 or WD-9 International Harvester. Made by Donaldson. Been
around them all my life and never seen anybody put oil in the glass jar. An occasional tiny 1/64th scale
green/yellow toy tractor but never oil.

Not a fan of oil bath air cleaners at ALL, on ANY brand tractor. Total waste of a quart or two of oil.

Cool Beans! Who knows the history of this tractor or what has been done to it over the last few decades? Being in New Mexico all it's life anything is possible.

What do you mean? Do you think most farmers everywhere don't jury rig anything they need to get their work done when it needs to get done?

Bailing wire, duct tape, bungee cords,JB Weld and parts from other tractor makers would be the norm.
What I was inferring was who knows what has been done to my tractor since it was put to work 50 years ago?
