John deere 301A. Serial number

Hello all, new here. Just bought a 301A that appears in great shape but doesnt run. Spins over fine but has been sitting for 10+ years. Serial tag says_ TYPE- T4W1D serial- 116270T. Anyone know the year of it?
I ordered a new set of points& wires, etc.
Not sure what rebuild kit to get.

What would be my first step to get this baby going?

Once she is running I would change the hydraulic fluid and filter and pull/clean the sump screen. If the fluid looks clear that's a plus but if it looks cloudy then plan on draining as many spots as you can and flushing the oil several times plus using Sea Foam to get all the water out. You also want to pull the steering cover on the right side and clean out. My oil looked good on my 1020 but the oil inside that steering chamber was disgusting. Make sure you buy good oil made for John Deere hydraulics. I just picked up a 401B and unfortunately I think there was more water than oil in the rear end. I ended up pulling both axels to inspect the brakes and there is no way to easily get water out of the brakes as it is a closed system. Fortunately they were in pretty good shape but I found a bad axel bearing so I'm glad I did it. Good luck they are a great tractor if treated well.

The best is John Deere Hy-Gard transmission oil. There are aftermarkets but just make sure it says it is equivalent to John Deere Hy-Gard.
