1950 John Deere model A seat back orientation

Bought a reproduction seat back for my 1950 John Deere model A with the metal backplate.

The mounting holes are offset from the center, but it can mount either way. On way positions the seat back cushion just above the horizontal metal pipe of the seat frame and mounting the seat cushion the other way places it just below the horizontal metal pipe of the seat frame.

I have looked at several pics online and see a mixture of both ways of mounting it. Just curious which way is considered factory proper.

Grandpa bought a 1951 new and it had the seat back mounted above the bar. I?ve seen them both ways also. I would go with what?s most
comfortable for you.

"B" is same way. Here's mine. This way supports the small of my back best but a taller person may want it up higher. Is no "correct" for it.

Well I mounted it up both ways yesterday and found it to be more comfortable for me with it mounted in the lower position. Kinda surprised me since I am nearly 6'5" tall. I also think it looks a bit better mounted this way (i.e like Randy's pic), but I would have kept the more comfortable position regardless of looks.
