G belt pulley

How do you remove the gear on inside of belt pulley on a G tractor # 44745 the one by the oil slinger I think it"s number F520R thanks for your help Ted....

For what it's worth, the IT manual sez to remove it "with a suitable puller". Interestingly, putting it back on calls for heating it in boiling water before pressing it on. Sounds like it must be a booger to get off or on. I think some heat would be helpful along with the "suitable puller".

I just love the phrase using "suitable" which usually translates to me as "something I don't have". Another great one is "differences between models will be apparent". That means the part in my hand doesn't look a thing like the part or diagram in the IT.

Where's someone who knows how this is done to help this chap?

A good size puller and heat will get them off usually. You need to heat it till a ball of spit boils. Heat it on the outside edge was well as the middle. Try not to get the inside hot or it won't move. Give the end of the puller a good wack with a big hammer when you can't tighten it anymore and then try to tighten some more. If that fails find someone with a big press and have it pressed off.

(quoted from post at 06:39:02 08/07/18) I press them off, works good. Never had much success with a puller.
Thanks for your info, but on John Deere parts page it shows a 16 gauge x 36 inch wire #34 and a snap ring #36 and screws and washer #32 and #33 do these have anything to do with it, coming off or not
