4020 steering motor leak(?a for TimS)

Working on the typical steering motor leak, recently changed from wide to narrow front and as I suspected someone used too long a bolt. In addition to ruining the seal they also cracked the sleeve the seal rides on. Is there a replacement for that part (parts book does not list) or am I stuck having to buy another spindle.

You will need to find a good used one,, I think hitting something with the narrow front jars the bearing quill and cracks it,,that could be the source of your leak,,but the longer bolt could be it too..Are you going to rebuild the complete motor or just deal with the Quill..

Thanks for the response Tim,
It’s getting a full rebuild, bearings, seals, o-rings etc... it’s not mine and I only want to do it once. I’ll clean and mag check the quill for cracks and go from there.

It only leaked once the engine was shut off if that means anything.

Unrelated, but my Ford 6610 leaks a lot of places once, I put a pan under there, and it leaks somewhere else, kind of like the old cartoons with leaky roofs.
