Two Cylinder Serial Number Research

A friend might want to bid on an "A" John Deere tractor, on an upcoming auction. He would like to have the serial number researched, to be certain that he is bidding on the correct tractor. The Two Cylinder Club web site says that the research takes six to eight weeks. Does anyone know of a faster way to get it done?

What exactly are they expecting to find out ? Usually all you get for a serial number research is a build date and a ship to destination which could very well be a branch warehouse and not even the final selling dealer.

Sounds like he already knows what serial number he's after. If that's so then just look at the serial number of the tractor on the auction. Or maybe it's an online auction with remote bidding and no chance to eyeball the serial number plate.
