We have a 4010 with narrow front now. Just got it. The tractor was my dads since 1963. I think it was made in Oct of 1962. One of the front hubs has three bad bolt holes in a row on one front hub. Also we are really considering a John Deere 4010 wide front for it now.
We have been looking on replacing the one bad front hub and found that there is a heavy duty hub. The one on the tractor now looks like the star design on the back side around the bolt holes and we think it is the standard duty.
Are the spindle and bearing kits the same for both standard and heavy duty hubs? And does the standard hub and heavy duty nub fit narrow front spindles and wide front spindles.
Is there much more stronger in the heavy duty hub, because i know this 4010 ( if the star type is the standard one ) has a few times seen testing used with the loader a few times???
Or what to look for if trading the front axle to wide front and just getting hubs with it.
Thank you for any help your may have..
