2020 power steering pump

I have an old stle pump with no o-ring seals. Any idea what sealer to use when assembling pump. tried a Permatex anerobic and pump still leaks

I don't think they used anything originally.
Loctite has an anaerobic gasket maker.

AFAIK, originally they used a thin coat of "gasket shellac".

For years, I've used a TINY AMOUNT of Permatex anaerobic with great success.

I'm GUESSING yours is burred, cracked, or somehow damaged if it won't seal. Also, having the surfaces CLEAN and 100% free of oil when using the anaerobic sealant is imperative.

Will try it again. Talked to people at work and they use alcohol to prep surfaces. Pump was rebuilt once before and there was a thin layer of sealant between the pump sections.

Tore down pump and dressed pump sections on a sheet of glass with sandpaper. Taking gears down a touch for clearance--aiming for .003 . Planning to use Loctite 5452 between sections.
