My 4020 still has the original two battery rack for holding batteries. It has long been converted to 12 volt only and never changed the original battery rack that is 6 3/4" x 18".
Should I make a new battery holder to fit todays single battery or is there a conversion rack available?

They make a 12 volt battery to fit that box,,home made boxes end up being in the way most of the time,, I get some weird ones in here... I prefer the stock boxes myself..

HUH! Originally there was one battery on each side.
Not a "rack" 6 3/4 wide.
If it is console tractor there were two six volt batteries
in a 12 volt system.
If it was an earlier tractor, it had two 12 volt batteries
in a 24 volt system. Many of those were converted to 12 volt
systems. You still used two 12 volt batteries but changed cables.
As Tim said you should use original boxes.

Really Tim, you have a problem with a bunch of junk steel thrown together to hold some oddball oversized batteries hanging off the side of the tractor.LOL I have seen some real interesting stuff over the years but I prefer the originals as well. Tom

I saved one of those angle iron frames from someones tractor.
It comes in handy to bolt to side rail of a tractor with cab
removed for repairing. Used to have to set a battery on the
transmission.
Makes it possible to drive tractor to wash area. Don't try
this at home.
