I just purchased a JD 3020 gas and I am trying to figure out the year...anyone help. It looks like:

111180919468

Yes, I am trying to decipher the number off of a photo of the plate that is a bit fuzzy. Do you know how to breakdown the number sets? It appears to be 12 digits. Thanks

I think what you are seeing actually starts with "T111", which would mean "Tractor", "3010 or 3020", "Row crop", "Gasoline". Next character would be "P", if powerwhift, "R", if synchro, then a 6-digit serial number, followed by "R", which was the code for "Waterloo built".

If my GUESS is correct, that would leave "091946" as the serial number, making it a 1966 IF you copied those six digits correctly.

I think you are right after looking closely at it! Thank you and will verify when I am in front of it again. Waiting on a couple of things the PO has to fix before pickup.

About transport in CT....I have access to a big deckover tandem trailer and I was hoping to hook up to my silverado 1500 to haul it home. But the mechanic was saying that I could get pulled over for overweight. I figure the tractor is about 7500 (tires not filled) and the trailer is about 2000. Any thoughts. Trying to avoid the $300 to flatbed it.
Thank you.
